As a teacher, I thank you for this resource. I look back in my years of teaching prior to having knowledge of SPD and clearly better understand some of my students who struggled and who had "something" going on. Now as a mother of a child…

Better Health For AllA year or so ago, I wrote an article "Integrated 4 Part Therapy for Autism".  This article is simply a composite of knowledge I have gotten over 30 years of working with various mental and physical problems in Orthomolecular Medicine.  It is actually very similar to such a therapy used in schizophrenia that was very successful in my practice some years back.  However, I realize that it would beneficial in some parts at least to every one of my readers, even the most healthy…See More

Healthy Living Continues!

Tonight I was at the Y working out and overheard a couple of women next to me talking about all of their aches and pains. One of them had an ache in their neck, another in their knee and she had arthritis.

Having my own pains here and there and living with them long enough

until I was able to find answers, I had to blurt out, “I know how you can get

some relief”, almost without knowing what I was going to say!…

Living Somewhere in between Totally Normal and Special....

Hey All!

I wanted to report in that we've had so much success with all of the treatments we've implemented at home that we no longer would be clarified on the "spectrum". My son is totally medicine free and doing well in school. We do still have days where listening is an issue or attention may not be at 100%, but he's a kid and no one is perfect!!!

I'm on the quest to continue learning. We've added smoothies and juicing to our constant DETOX program, and I think now in… Continue

Sleep is Essential

How many of us are effective on little amounts of sleep? How about sending a child to school on Monday morning after a crazily booked weekend??

NOT GOOD.

We recently had a ton of things this past weekend.. and we then wanted family time so we went to the beach on Sunday.. and got back late...

We paid for it... Monday morning was a bit tough and school wasn't as smooth.

Staying in may not be as fun, but it certainly makes things a lot easier on the family… Continue

The Learning Continues!!!!

I'm just blown away by the amount of massive information that is out there.. and the amount of information that I don't know yet.. but want to learn!!!

Last night we had our support group here in Winter Park and I really think we're solving some unbelievably complex problems. Each person there had a story, each person there had experience and so many resources coming together is what we FINALLY NEED TO DO TO SOLVE all of these horrible childhood problems our children have. It seems… Continue

Mary- I am passing along the info for your website to the newsletter person at GOMOTT (Greater Orlando Mother or Twins & Triplets club). I believe there are many members that could benefit from your resources! I will ask them to copy you in on anything they send out to the group & perhaps some day you could be a speaker at one of the monthly meetings. They are always looking for leaders in the community to share their wisdom!

Hi Mary - Thank you for organizing such a wonderful & informative meeting last night! I feel like it really helped to get me jumpstarted again & give me some good resources for the journey with our twins. I have already scheduled our daughter for a sleep study with Dr. Ajayi's office & Dr. Gorman will see both twins in August. I also wanted to tell you that I used your name when ordering my Brain On order so you will get credit for my referral. It was just a great product when I did the research & I am so grateful that my kids will also benefit from such a great product! I had a wonderful conversation with the rep at the company so I was really thankful that I learned of it through you. Hope to see you at a future meeting & thanks for doing all you do to keep us connected!
All the best! Pam C.

Hi Mary!

Happy New Year to you as well. Thanks for the info on Nikken and the H20 Filtration and magnets. Small world as Marissa's therapist is recommending it as well and we'll be looking into it.

Have you had any success with neurofeedback? Marissa is starting that next week. We get the results of her testing on Monday and a prescribed treatment plan from there. I am very hopeful that this will give her an added boost on anxiety issues and attention as well.

Take care,

Craig

Hi Mary, O.K. you got my attention. We just upped Anthony's medication because his anger/anxiety went over the top. However, I was remiss in giving him his B12 shots. Ughhh, always so much to do. He has been GFCF for over a decade so that is not an issue. Inf fact, I joined Pampered Chef as a consultant two years ago just because I cook at home so much. But I don't know about Brain On and if you say it works, then it is worth trying. So, what is your website? I will contact you if it is not too expensive. We are remortgaging, actually loan modification until our income catches up with our expenses. My husband finally started a new job June 1 after two years without. I think it will be terrific. Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks for thining of me. Is brain on a liquid/capsule/powder?? We've done the green water or whatever it was called. Anthony didn't like it. Hopefully this tastes better.

I spoke to Tony and sent him some info so we shall see what happens. Thanks so much! Remember that you are the best teacher for your child!

All my best,

Hi Mary, just wanted to know if you tried B12 shots? We have started them with our son (one so far while he is sleeping) and the next day he broke a morning ritual he has carried on all year. I found that pretty darn amazing. We are giving them every third day to start but may increase each day. You must do this under a doctor's guidance but google it and see the wonderful effects of B12. Did you also receive the e-mail with the link about the 8 yrs old boy who went to Costa Rica for stem cell treatment? Not sure of your views on that but the boy is doing great, according to his pediatrician. However, not approved in this country, insurance doesn't pay and very expensive and experimental. I shy away from these so called "quick fixes" for several reasons but just wanted to share the info with you. I don't really check this site unless someone e-mails me as I am pretty busy but hope you are doing well.

Hi Mary! I would love to contribute! I enjoy helping families understand the needs of their children, how to advocate for them, and coping with the challenges of raising a child with special needs. I would love to see that reference chart! Please let me know what you need! Thanks
