This past weekend, I caved.
I let my little boy indulge in diary.. He loved it! The cheese that was put on a tray quickly disappeared and his little 10 year old hands kept appearing!!!
I thought it was okay.. it was the Friday afternoon after a long week of school, running track and swim practice. I thought, well, lets see what happens! We'll go with it and see if it effects him at all.
Almost immediately he got dark circles under his eyes. (this is a good way to see if a person has a dairy allergy in my experience)
And later.. and over the next two days, I sensed that he was a bit emotional. He was louder. He cried more easily. He was aggitated.
It was like when I have too much sugar and he can call it every time. I flare up with something stupid and display anger. And my son will say: "Mom, you've had too much sugar" .... and he's ALWAYS right!!!
Can food really cause such emotional reactions? In our experience.. now that we're so tuned into what we eat, the answer is YES!!!
If you or your child seems over aggitated.. notice what you ate. Even up to 2-3 days later, the effects are still there.
It matters.. and it's WONDERFUL when you learn your triggers and can avoid them!
